Leaders women serving rural women

Context of the project :

Peace and security in eastern DR Congo, particularly in South and North Kivu, are not yet effective. The dissolution of the rebel movement M23 does not quite reassure and some wonder if the same movement will not resurface under another name as was the case in the past with other movements despite peace agreements signed by the belligerents.

This fragility of peace is also noticeable by the real existence in different territories of North and South Kivud'other national armed groups (May Mai, Raiya mutomboki, Raiya mukombozi) and foreign (FDLR, FNL, AEF NALU,) very active and which sow desolation here and there by forcing women to live in absolute and indescribable precariousness that leads to unparalleled psycho-somatic disorders.

It is therefore necessary not only to continue to combine efforts to consolidate the achievements of the Congolese government but also to call it to put an end finally to all the disastrous situations that insecure women.

Resolution 1325 is accepted in DR Congo and results in the implementation of a national plan of Resolution 1325; but there is still a lot to be done in its applicability to make women feel at home in this part of the country. It is known to all that women are the main victims during wars.

The project "Woman in the Making" based on a system of communication and connection between women peacemakers, from the rural and local level to the international level aims to contribute to the improvement of the peace and security of women. rural women in eastern DRC through sustained advocacy at local, national and international levels. The indicators revealed by the information already received on the basis of its implementation, demonstrate that women's security remains at risk in eastern DR Congo.

The SYNERGY OF WOMEN FOR PEACE AND RECONCILIATION OF PEOPLES OF THE GREAT LAKES OF AFRICA "SPR", through this project entitled "LEADING WOMEN IN THE SERVICE OF RURAL WOMEN", supports the project FEMME AU FONE through women leaders of Eastern DR Congo, who hold various positions of responsibility and can influence good decisions for women. Indeed, the security of rural women depends on the support of women political leaders and civil society because of their proven abilities.

The meeting of women leaders at the local level, those of cities, and also of parliamentary women politicians in a framework of exchange, will bring together and connect more basic women with highly placed women and political ambitions. This rapprochement will break this break in the considerations and further support the positive considerations for joint support in the struggle and advocacy for improving the security and protection of women from the grassroots level to the spheres of making decisions.

It is therefore important to connect rural women leaders and women parliamentarians through exchanges. This connection will enable these women to act immediately by advocating with local, regional and international authorities. In the meantime, women leaders in the city will be able to communicate their actions to village women through radio and mobile phones. Given the current difficulty of electing more women to our country, this rapprochement also aims to reduce the gap between rural women and women leaders to give more chances to women candidates in the upcoming elections in our country.

Several cases of incidents refer to the need for women to initiate legal or judicial proceedings to claim some protection from the rights that are being harmed. Access to equitable justice is a right recognized for every citizen of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) but the reality is different because those who have insufficient means are often discouraged to file their lawsuit.

In everyday life, women may have problems or violations of their rights that can only be solved through justice because they are unmanageable through simple family or community dialogues or exchanges, but they are not able to initiate legal proceedings

The women's project intends to guide the cases of women who are in need of justice, to the care organizations that implement the legal aid projects. Indeed, the messages that arrive at the fone woman's system provide ample proof that several women's files need to be referred to the legal clinics located in the territories.
Therefore, through this project, a mapping of legal clinics is required to refer the cases of women in need of legal support.
